God, I hate this design. It's so old and boring and we had to do it for the boss. It's not like we have a choice. I'm writing this blog post on my cell phone while sitting in traffic on the way to work and my back is breaking from the pressure of my seat strap digging into me as I try to keep my eyes focused on not missing any stray cars coming up fast. It's cold. I hate winter. I hate everything about it, from its coldness to the fact that you can't wear shorts in it without getting a lecture about the importance of layered clothing from your mother. I hate that when I take my coat off during spring, my father laughs at me for wearing four layers underneath it. "Hahahaha," he laughs, "you look like an old person." I even hate New Jersey winters. All that freezing rain that hits you while walking home in the dark can get to me sometimes. I keep a sweater with me at all times to put on when it gets too cold. I wore the same sweater today because it's the only one I own that doesn't make me look like a nerd. No matter how much I try to convince myself that if other guys can wear theirs, so can I, every time I slip on one of those button down sweaters everyone else wears, it feels like a second skin. And not because it's warm. No, the reason it feels like a second skin is because it's so damn tight that I can't breathe. I'm just sick of everything. When summer comes and everyone's complaining about how hot it is and wearing whatever they want, I get petrified thinking how long it'll be before school starts up again and all of the "cool" kids get new clothes. It's not like we have a choice. We don't make any money anyway; we get paid per part (and at this rate, we're lucky to get even one part every two years), but our base pay is hardly enough to live on. I've been acting for quite a while now and I'm not earning enough to rent my own place. And it's not like I'm any great actor or anything. My dream has been to become a great comedian and in order to do that, you have to be in New York City. Then they'll give you a show on HBO and everyone will know you're a genius. My father doesn't understand why I can't be happy with the situation I'm in right now. He's one of the best actors in the business right now, but hasn't gotten a single role for nearly three years due to his age (sixty-five). 8eeb4e9f32 31
